Hi! Let me introduce myself. I'm Parry, and I've been providing professional family portraits and photography for weddings, events and corporate clients since 1998. I taught elementary school for Regina Public Schools for over 30 years before retiring in 2019, with a special passion for French, Music, Math and Science education. I'm now doing photography full-time with my wife (and often photography assistant) Laurie. We have two grown children, and enjoy spending time with friends and family while camping, kayaking, swimming, watching movies, playing board games, or just hanging out! Laurie and I are actively involved in their church and many community events, and are still madly in love with each other!
I'm a bit of a perfectionist. To achieve the best quality photos, I use professional high-resolution Nikon digital cameras, a variety of computer software and I manage the server that this website is on using Linux, Apache and Drupal. I choose to support local businesses and professionals for photofinishing, legal and other professional support. All digital photos are shot in RAW format to retain superior quality and flexibility in processing the final images. Parry also occasionally uses film cameras from 35mm to 4"x5" large format, and enjoys working in his darkroom to produce his own negatives, prints and slides -- a little nerdy and "Old School" perhaps, but working with film has other artistic properties and proven archival benefits, as well the fun of creating the final product.
